Balwantrai Mehta PachayatrajJagruti Kendra – The Rural Development Section of Kushtarog Niwaran Samiti, Shantivan, is involved in various development
activities in 40 villages in PanvelTaluka, Dist. Raigad, Maharashtra. We concentrate on education, health, sanitation and hygiene, sports, adult education of
women and vocational training for income generating activities. Even in the 66″ year of independence many of our villages are till deprived of basic amenities
such as drinking water and sanitation. Despite Governmental plans and efforts in this direction the current scenario is very dismal. Thus, it is the objective
of NGOs like us to provide drinking water and sanitation facilities in the villages. The villagers have approached us to help them to construct 59 toilet blocks.
Indian Red Cross Society Bomaby City Branch has done awonderful job in providing this basic amenity for the comfort of villagers.
